Welcome to Kahikatea Syndicate
We are the senior syndicate at Raumati South School and are made up of 3 Year 7 & 8 classes.
The Syndicate Leader, and teacher in Room 4, is Mrs Wagstaff, in Room 2 is Miss Franklin and Room 3 is being taught by Mr Young.
We had quite a number of students new to Raumati South School beginning at the start of the 2010 school year in Kahikatea. It was great to have you all on our camp and I'm certain many of you made new friends over that week.
Camp
2010 camp is now over. Many thanks to the parents that came with us. It was great to have such an enthusiastic group of helpers. Thanks.
Technology
This year Technology is on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. until 11.30a.m. This is held at the Technology Centre on Hillcrest Road. All classes will go at the same time this year. This means all Year 7 & 8 students need to be at school and lined up outside the hall at 8.45a.m. on Wednesday mornings to catch the bus so Technology can begin at the Centre at 9 a.m. The Technology teachers will visit Raumati South and talk to all students before the first Technology lesson. One point they will emphasise is that you all need to wear covered shoes when you go to Technology - no jandals or sandals. This year the clearfile you require will be issued from the Technology Centre, you do not need to provide it.
We are named Kahikatea because the Kahikatea or White Pine is the tallest of New Zealand's forest trees, and we are the oldest pupils at RSS.
