Welcome to Kahikatea Syndicate
We are the senior syndicate of Year 7 & 8 students. There are 3 classes at this level. Our teachers are: Mrs Wagstaff, syndicate leader and teacher in Room 4, Miss Franklin in Room 2 and Mr Young in Room 3.
Our amazing wearable art entrants for artsplash 2010!
The above group of Year 8 students travelled to Wellington on the 24th of May to the National Young Leaders' Day. They are: Mady, Ruby, Emma, Jessica, Sarah, Awatea and in the front row Carlin, Melissa, Georgina, Niamh and Dan.
The above students were chosen to attend this day because they have shown leadership in a variety of areas over the year so far. Roles they are involved in include: Road Patrol. Peer Mediation, Librarians, Buddy Day leaders, PAL's (Physical Activity Leaders), Dance, Drama, Production team and the School Council. There are other areas as well. The majority of the activities these students undertake are sone in their own time - at morning break, lunch and after school. The teachers of the senior syndicate - and the rest of the staff - appreciate their help.
2010 camp is now over. Many thanks to the parents that came with us. It was great to have such an enthusiastic group of helpers. Thanks.

We are named Kahikatea because the Kahikatea or White Pine is the tallest of New Zealand's forest trees, and we are the oldest pupils at RSS.
