P.T.A.

The Raumati South School P.T.A. are an active group. They regularly hold morning teas in the staffroom to welcome new parents to the school.

Fundraising is  part of what the P.T.A. does and they have bought many assets for the classrooms over the years. In the last 12 months they have funded listening posts for each classroom, new video cameras and a large number of digital cameras. Their latest purchase was the 'Rainbow Reading' programme to help support the literacy programme in the school.

The swimming pool area has also received funding from the P.T.A. The changing rooms have been upgraded and a new shed to store the swimming equipment has been erected in the pool area.

The staff are extremely grateful for the contributions the P.T.A. makes.

The P.T.A. also organises social activities to encourage the school community to join together. At the end of Term 1 a 'Family Fun Picnic Evening' was held. There was a sausage sizzle as well as coffee and cake available. Good 'old fashioned' games were part of the evening. The School Kapa Haka group entertained the large number of families that attended.
